State telco PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom) (JSX:TLKM) will be ordering in the near future its Telkom-3 Satellite at a cost of US$150-200 million. The satellite is expected to be launched in 2010 or 2011.
The bidding process will begin this month or after Idul Fitri (Muslim festivity),
The satellite will have 48 transponders, of which 14 will be commercialized while the remaining 24 will be used to strengthen the capacity of Telkom's telecommunication services.
